Tour Map

The trip runs from Giza and Cairo down the Nile to Luxor, ancient Thebes. In Cairo you visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Pyramids and the Sphinx. In Luxor you visit Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple on the East Bank, and the Valley of the Kings on the West Bank. A short domestic flight links the two cities, so your time goes into the temples and tombs.

Itinerary

Day 1: Touchdown in Cairo Arrive at Cairo Airport. Our meet-and-assist service meets you just outside your gate and takes you through passport control, luggage claim and customs. They then accompany you to the Four Seasons Nile Plaza Hotel (Nile View Room).

Day 2: Grand Egyptian Museum, Giza Pyramids & the Sphinx (Breakfast, Lunch) After breakfast, meet your Egyptologist at 7:30 AM. Visit the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the world’s largest archaeological museum dedicated to a single civilization, home to thousands of treasures including the complete collection of King Tutankhamun. Lunch is at an authentic local restaurant.

Proceed to the Pyramids of Giza, the only surviving wonder of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and enjoy your camel ride there. Then visit the mysterious Sphinx, while your Egyptologist tells its story. You return to your hotel at 4:00 PM. Dinner tonight is at your leisure. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 3: Fly to Luxor: Karnak & Luxor Temple (Breakfast) Enjoy breakfast and check out of your hotel. Transfer to Cairo airport to board your flight to Luxor. On arrival, begin your visits with Karnak Temple, the largest religious complex ever built for a god in the history of mankind. It is dedicated to Amon Ra, the chief creator god of ancient Egypt. Then visit Luxor Temple, built predominantly by Pharaoh Ramses II.

Lunch is at your leisure. You are then transferred to the Hilton Luxor Hotel to check in. Dinner tonight is at your leisure. Overnight at the Hilton Luxor (Nile View Room).

Day 4: Valley of the Kings, then back to Cairo (Breakfast) Enjoy breakfast and check out. Start the day at the Valley of the Kings, hidden behind the mountains on the west bank of the Nile. Enter the Tomb of King Tutankhamun and stand face to face with his mummy. Your tour also includes access to the Tomb of Ramses VI, one of the most colorful tombs in the valley.

Lunch is at your leisure. Transfer to Luxor airport to board your flight to Cairo. On arrival at Cairo Domestic Airport, your Tour Coordinator accompanies you to the Waldorf Astoria Hotel (Deluxe Room). Overnight in Cairo.

Day 5: Farewell, Egypt (Breakfast) Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then transfer to the airport. You fly home with your heart full of the sights, sounds and voices of Egypt.
